Dani Wins Opener

In her second week back after missing the clay court season, Daniela made a winning start to her AEGON International campaign on Monday afternoon, showing some impressive serving to beat British No.1 Anne Keothavong, 62 63.

Daniela lost serve once early in the first set but only faced one break point in her other eight service games of the match to move smoothly past Keothavong in straight sets. The only previous meeting between Hantuchova and Keothavong went in the Slovak's favor in straight sets as well - a 64 62 win in the same round in Eastbourne two years ago.

This is Daniela's second week back after missing the entire clay court season with a foot injury. She fell in her opening match at the AEGON Classic in Birmingham last week. Next up for Daniela will be Tamira Paszek - the Austrian won their only previous meeting back in 2008 on the hardcourts of Bali, prevailing 6-4 in the third set.
